Apple Sports is Apple's own free scores app. It is fast, clean, and tightly built into the iPhone: Live Activities on the Lock Screen, widgets, and a personalized view of the teams and leagues you follow. It covers more than 50 leagues and expanded to over 90 countries in May 2026. You sign in with your Apple Account and your followed teams sync across devices.
It is a following tool. You tell it which teams matter to you, and it keeps you current on them. The Lineup Is starts from the other end: it looks at everything on today and tells you what is worth your time, including games involving teams you have never followed.

What makes The Lineup Is different
Every game gets an importance score from 0 to 100, built from eleven factors: playoff stakes, rivalry, rankings, how close the game projects to be, star power, championship implications, elimination pressure, momentum, history, national broadcast reach, and overall matchup quality. Boosts are multiplicative, so a rivalry lifts a big game far more than it rescues a dull one. Every score shows its factors. Then each game gets a short narrative written from the real state of the season, so you know why it matters before you commit an evening to it.
